BBC Republican Con coverage

Doctor Who | 01.09.2004 22:31

BBC coverage of the Republican conference is disgusting.

While I've never swallowed the bull about the anti-war stance of Auntie Beeb ( particularly giving a qualititive analysis - ie in terms of language, scheduling etc. ) claimed by NeoNazi Labour the coverage of the Republican conference takes the biscuit too. Tonights 10 o clock news ( and the rest ) gave more coverage to Arnie the Governator or the family of 'Bushies' ( ain't that sweet! )b than any of the protests ( the Beeb seem to try to give the impression that there is hardly any protest or the usual fascistic shenanigans of the NYPD
( mind you their coverage of the Miami cops brutality last year was laso none existant ). They mentioned a 1000 arrests in a sentence that if you had blinked you would have missed it. The never mentioned once the repressive police measures in force or the Critcal mass arrests, or the homeless marches etc.

BBC, Shepherd's Bush must really be humming right now on account of the bullshit.
Arnold, perhaps , you should consider what it really means to 'stay hungry'.

Elections and voters

It's been a disgrace. It's not like they don't have any journalists who can step outside and report it. Elections are supposed to be about voters, and that's what the people outside represent.

I recommend sending feedback on the webpage of every news program that willfully fails to report on what is going on outside right after the broadcast. They do not know how much damage they are doing by not reporting massive non-violent protest-- they would for sure report it if there was any violence.

Showing only the RNC proceedings leaves people in despair that all Americans are raving lunatics and we're all going to die. The protests are a sign of hope. We need to see these signs of hope.

no news at the BBC

yes, maybe 2 minutes on the A29 march - 500 000 people demonstrating on the streets of new york remember - by the BBC late news. no high up shots to show the scale of the event, instead from-the-sidelines commentary in front of a group of relaxed and harmless looking NYPD uniforms. you'd have to be an idiot to keep watching this rubbish.

good take downs of the 'liberal' (neocon apologist) media here:
