Oxford Research Group (ORG) has published an important new book by Professor Paul Rogers on the invasion of Iraq and the so-called 'war on terror'.

Professor Paul Rogers' new book, 'Iraq and the War on Terror', provides a contemporary month-by-month analysis of events as they were happening in Iraq, Afghanistan and the wider 'war on terror' over the 12 months since President Bush declared the end of major military operations in Iraq last May. It brings together Paul Rogers' (Global Security Consultant to ORG and Professor of Peace Studies at Bradford University) monthly international security briefings as published on the Oxford Research Group website between May 2003 - April 2004, and concludes with a commentary on the significance of the year's events, and an analysis of the current situation, including strategy options for the future.

"Paul Rogers' monthly columns are a must read for those who want to know the truth about the military situation in Iraq. This collection of his writing from May 2003 to April 2004 tracks how we got into such a terrible mess and the options for the future - which is gloomy unless we commit to hand over Iraq to the Iraqis, a rapid coalition exit and international support for Iraq organised through the UN." Clare Short MP

"Incisive, elegant, profound: if you want to understand what happened and why, you should start here." George Monbiot
