A 13-year-old boy, whose best friend was found hanged at a secure unit, has been arrested after staging a rooftop protest in Lancashire.
Michael Craig climbed on a roof in Burnley after telling friends he feared for his own life if he too were sent to a secure unit, like Adam Rickwood.

At fourteen, Adam was the youngest person to die in custody in the UK.

His body was found at the privately-run Hassockfield Centre near Consett, County Durham, last week.

Michael spent more than two hours on a rooftop terrace near Burnley town centre on Monday morning.

Michael is the subject of an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) and his family claim he was worried about being put into custody.

His cousin, Shaun Forbes, told BBC North West Tonight: "He wants to stay with his mum and everyone he knows.

"He's just found that his friend has died in a place like that and I don't think anyone would want to go to somewhere like that when that has happened."

When he came down, police arrested him on suspicion of breaching the Asbo and public order offences. He is now being questioned.

An inquest into Adam Rickwood's death was opened and adjourned last week amid calls for a public inquiry into the deaths of teenagers in custody.
