Statement by the Bolivarian grassroots movement

VENEZUELA: Our Votes Are Non-Negotiable: We'll defend them one by one, against anyone... por PNA-M13... Monday August 16, 2004 at 04:01 PM

No Negotiation with the Imperialist Opposition!

The Opposition Alliance ("Coordinadora Democrática") is rejecting the results given by the National Electoral Council (CNE) that signal the victory of the "No" (Bolivarian option) with 58% of the votes. The oligarchic opposition is trying to get the support of César Gaviria, from the Ministry of Colonies of the United States (a.k.a. O.A.S.), to support their ridiculous claims of "chavista fraud".

They couldn't articulate the electronic fraud, and now they are scandalizing the reputation of the referendum process to force a negotiation that could bring down the gap between "Yes" and "No". Their strategy is to end in a position where they can have enough political power to keep slowing down the process of radicalization that the revolutionary grassroots are pushing forward. To the peoples of the world we must say that, as part of the venezuelan popular movement, we emphatically reject any kind of negotiation that seeks to satisfy the demands of the oligarchy and the empire. If it it is necesarry, we are willing to confront each and every one of these powers, including "revolutionary" leaders that give-in to this treason. We completely reject any attempt to reduce the percentage with which we won the referendum.

No to the "politiquera" and negotiating culture!
For the immediate deepening of our revolutionary process!
With autonomous and libertarian spirit... Adelante!
