Returned to the UK early this morning after a great few days in Warsaw remembering the terrible events of WW2 and the later occupation by the Communists.

Poland is a country in transition, after years of Socialist central control it is taking time to build a free democratic country but hey ! are we trying !

The emotion in the voice of my mild mother when she talked about the years of oppression, the fear and the hatred of the Communists bought tears to my eyes, I had never heard her talk before about what is what like. The pride when she told me of her fathers fight to see his scientific papers published in the West will be something I will never forget (he died when I was too young to know him).

Poland now stands free, free of oppression, free of luntaic Socialist planning that bought starvation and no hope.
