PACA activist assaulted at peaceful demo in Malvern, Worcs.

PACA - West Mids | 28.07.2004 22:28 | Animal Liberation

An activist from People Against Cruelty to Animals was assaulted today [28-07-04] whilst taking part in a stop live exports demonstration at the national sheep exhibition 2004 at the Three counties showground, Malvern, Worcestershire.

During the peaceful demo which was comprised of eight activists using megaphones and holding placards, a six foot thug rushed out of the exhibition gates with fist raised and chased an activist across the busy road that runs alongside the Three counties. After catching up with the activist, slammed him to the floor causing massive abrasions to the activists hands and then grabbed the activists megaphone and smashed it to smitherines next to him. The thug then proceeded to scarper into a nearby field full of around 1,000 4x4 'poor farmers' vehicles and disappeared like lightning. Activists pursued this person but he was running so fast it was impossible to keep up, this thug was running for his life.

The activist in question, now with hands bandaged, is pressing charges for assault and hopefully by the fingerprints that this low life will have left on the megaphone he grabbed and smashed, may be apprehended, but we hold no hopes up ...

The animal abuse industry is rampant with violent thugs that defend that despicable industry, that industry is after all built upon violence, terrorism and murder. How many people do we assault that are from the enemy's side at demonstrations?

Activists tried to contact the sheep exhibition 2004 event organiser Ms Julie Sedgwick TEL: 01388 609322 to tell her of the incident, she laughed and then put the phone down.

This is what happens when you use violence as a weapon. The anti-vivisection groups are happy to use intimidatio themselves but when it happens to them . . ..

I have no sympathy, you only have yourselves to blame

How many?

'How many people do we assault that are from the enemy's side at demonstrations?'

As I understand it, you prefer to assault people in their homes rather than at public demonstrations...

Where shall we start.

Two Directors of Huntingdon Life Sciences assaulted outside their homes.

The daughter of Oxford Genetics Chairman (12 years old) slapped around the face by a hooded animal rights activist outside her school. (Did that make you feel good ?)

A farmer in Hampshire shot with an air pistol by the ALF

How many more examples do you want ?

The move to violence against the vivisection community was a mistake. It promted the recent £20 million reward fund and is already leading to many raids on activists as a result.

Violence is never the answer.

How many ?

Don't like your own medicine, huh?

"I am not encouraging or calling for violence against 'animal rights' activists. I am simply stating that the animal rights movement is and has been the most moronic movement the world has ever known considering the amount of terror, abuse and murder done to scientists for the personal satisfaction and self aggrandisement of people like Jerry Vlasak."

"If by chance violence is used by those who fight for human sentient beings, against the fwuffy bunny obsessives, or even if there are casualties, it must be looked at in perspective and in a historical context."

your own tactics will be used against you ... your homes are not safe

How many people did this activist assault? Many animal rights activists have done awful acts towards people working at Huntington or elsewhere, but his guy who got beaten up sounds like he was just protesting peacefully. 'I have no sympathy for you' why the hell not? In this article it never says that this activist has used violence at any time so why shouldn't you feel sympathy? You can't blame the entire animal rights movement for the actions of a few.

I have always felt unhappy about justification for violence used by anybody. Those who support an end to animal testing have no more right to the moral high ground than anybody else.

Hi,

I was the activist who was assaulted at the three counties showground yesterday. I've never caused harm to a human being in my life and don't intend to now or in the future. This was a totally unjustified attack at an extremely peaceful/legal protest.

So please don't jump to conclusions that I am a so called 'thug or terrorist' or any other demeaning title being banded about by the media in their current frenzied attack on the AR movement.

Yesterday I was attacked by a real thug, and to me, the 'terrorist' crown sits on the heads of those that terrorise animals day in day out in laboratories, farms, circuses, hunts etc etc ...

The animal abusers of this country so far have taken the lives of two young hunt saboteurs, a stop live exports campaigner and left a campaigner to starve to death whilst on hunger strike in protest of govt policy regarding lab animals. The AR movement has taken no lives. So draw your own conclusions.

For the animals always,

A PACA activist

PR

There have been two recent developments in the filed of animal rights and protest that have in general not been covered by the mainstream press.

i) Violence and the PR result. The shift toward violence against individuals and organisations in Animal Rights protest has been a PR disaster. It allowed the likes of the Daily Mail etc to present all protestors as little more than terrorists, as a result funding from the more mainstream supporters has dried up. Intimidation of those involved in the Third Party stage of these sites, builders, courior companies etc has directly led to . . .

ii) Massive rewards for information. Human greed being what it is the Police are currently inundated with offers of information. Some 60 individuals have been questioned and two Canadian citizens forced to leave the country. Animal Rights groups have seen wholesale sell out in some cases.

Groups like the ALF have probably set back the cause of Animal rights some 20 years. Medical research companies will now get the "security" funding they have been screaming for from central government further increasing their profits.

Incredible!

It's incredible just how fucking stupid people are. The media can puppet tens of thousands, even millions just by publishing alarmist headlines in their daily rags. What joy for them ... and a hardon and payrise too.

Walking round with a blindfold on, fingers in your ears and your head up someone elses arse may suit you animal abuse supporting halfwits, but it doesn't suit me. I follow no god nor scientist. I am not scared and need to cling on to NOTHING that you creeps have built or conjured up.

You really are Absolutely Pathetic!

Shame on you!

Judd

ARRRRGGGHHH !

you idiot Judd, dont you realise the damage you and those like you have done to the cause. you have played into the hands of the drug companies and testing organisations in a way they could have only dreamed off.

this may be your new little project but for those of us who have been working at this issue for much longer we are so annoyed, all our good work undone. grow up and leave us alone.

this is about the animals not your desire for a new political system

politics

I think Judd may be making a point in his/her frustration regarding the mindset of ignorance which is in fact, controlled by the media and other arms of the state. Also Judd as far as I can see, is not advocating political change, but maybe the destruction of political systems and what is built within them.

Is it not the same universal mindset of controlled and manipulated ignorance that allows every animal abuser to get on with their vile 'lines of work' unchallenged?
