You may have heard the rumours about the threat to the hippy green at old eldon square well we now know they is true. The council plans to cut the green into four to fit in with the redevelopment of Eldon Square Shopping Centre. They plan to double dissect it with paths 20 foot wide to give access to the new shops and bars. Collateral damage will be the poor who cant afford the bars, the youth who cant go in them and the office workers and strollers who just like to chill in the summer sun, if you arent consuming you wont be wanted on the green anymore anytime soon SO HELP TO STOP IT If you want this green heart of the city, this unmediated un commercial unwanted heart to be saved YOU can nominate it for listing on the councils own website. They are running a "list a park or building you love" competition and you can vote electronically by going to :

It will give them a real shock and much embarrasment if the very green they want to trash gets voted to the top of their very own protected list! All nominations have to be made by 31st July so get clickin now and forward this to all of your friends 2.
