For those thinking of attending Farnborough Air Show / Arms Fair

My latest information on preparations for Farnborough is that the many, many extra CCTV cameras are now all in place. These include Farnborough town centre as well as Farnborough Main and North stations. Police choke points are being prepared to control crowd movement.

A number of private security companies have been seen working with the police including the BAE Systems team who bring their own equipment and reputation !

The organisers have also readied a special Incident Response Unit consisting of a team of heavies who will confront and eject any demonstrators within the airfield area, the police are said to be "not entirely happy" with this team and its tactics.

Security has also been increased at the BAE Systems HQ next to the airfield with the usual thugs in suits with earpieces seen all over the carpark.

Those seeking to get in would be advised to dress in a business like manner and only form into a group within the arena area. Expect a robust response and little sympathy from most visitors.
