In April 2003 Ivor Dembina, a member of the Jewish Socialists’ Group and supporter of Jews for Justice in Palestine spent time in Israel and Palestine with the International Solidarity Movement. Over the past twelve months he’s been writing and developing a stand-up comedy show about Israel, Palestine and the Jews based upon the experiences of that trip. The completed show, entitled ‘This is Not a Subject for Comedy’ was premiered a couple of months ago in Washington DC where it was enthusiastically received by audiences and critics alike. The show can now be viewed in the UK as part of an evening of Jewish Comedy at the Hampstead Comedy Club in north London.
