Although declared guilty by a swiss court Martin Shaw did not face any punishment for the Aubonne bridge action. Gesine Wenzel was given a 10 day suspended sentance. However they vowed to appeal the conviction as they said it was a clear attack on the right to protest and could set a precident to criminalise dissent. They were joined at the press conferance by Heidi Giulliani who spoke about the repression in Genoa that saw her son Carlo murdered in 2001. Activists hung a banner from the court roof for the verdict.
