By-Elections 15 july

red letter | 25.06.2004 15:35

The Leicester South and Birmingham Hodge Hall by-elecxtions have been called for 15th July

Labour Party wants to minimise the campaigning time and get the bad news out the way.

It is unclear if the BNP will be standing a candidate in either wards given both areas ahave high proportion of ethic minority population.

The liberals have put forward an asian candidate with aim of gaining votes from the the asian community. they will no doubt pretend to be against the occuoation of iraq despite their position of supporting the troops to remain.

Respect will also be standing ,no doubt they will push the the iraq issues, but feedback from the 10th june elections suggest that they will also be pushing other social issues, eg more housing, better pensions, people before profit ect.

respect will be hoping to hoping to add to their votes on 10th june where they managed to 20% of the vote in some parts of leicester and in birmingham.

no doubt the greens will also feild a strong candidate with good anti-war credentials.

no doubt all parmainstream and non stream parties will be busting their guts in the campaign to maximise their votes.

watch this space!!!!
