More postal chaos for Oxford

Mail backlogs growing thanks to bad management

Backlogs of mail are growing in Oxford again, due to mismanagement, not to the postmen.
The walks have been reorganised in a way which the postmen knew would not work, and they don't. So much mail is not being delivered during the week, that some people got an extra delivery on Sunday, but this cannot go on indefinitely. Mistakes are being made, and the public and the postmen are getting annoyed. Unless the management does something sensible, something is going to snap. Don't rely too much on the post, and don't be surprised it the postmen stop work.

Most of my deliveries are tree-spam anyway

They might find the job a bit easier if they didn't have to deliver a fat wad of unwanted advertisements to every single address on their beat. I get about ten "proper" snail-mails a month; and about a kilogramme of pizza ads, credit-card promotions, TV license threats, fuck knows what addressed to "Occupier". That's ignoring the huge property "newspapers" that get jammed into my letterbox the day after the greenbox gets emptied (not by the posties, I hasten to mention).

Good idea

Well yes, they might find it easier if there was no junk mail and we would all benefit, but how can we stop people sending it ?
