The festival had some great live music, food, two music stages, DJ and graffiti workshops and lots of stuff for kids.

Other upcoming free festivals in Sheffield are Peace in the Park on the 3rd July (this year in Endcliffe Park), the Sharrow Festival on Saturday 10th July, and the Abbeyfield Park Festival on Sunday 11th July.

Sheffield Indymedia hope to have a stall at Peace in the Park.

Exciting and excellent

Thankyou for the pics and the brief report of Heeley Festival.
Managed to make it to there for the first time this year(briefly)and it seemed like a fairly good mix of old and young and multi cultures.
Have to say that, I have been lucky enough to have seen/watched the visiting Mpopoma Dance Ensemble (from Zimbabwe) 3 times now and that those kids and their percussion/drummers are absolutely "fantastic" and amazing.
I seriously would recommend anyone to go and experience their dancing, songs and show. Excellent.
P.S.Also on the 3rd July, the South Yorkshire (Free) festival takes place at Wortley Hall, Wortley, from 12.00 to 5.30p.m.
Regards and best. Smiley Steve.
