Activist groups from across East Anglia - including Peace Campaigners, Environmentalists, Trades Unionists, Anti-racists and many more have begun to gather together to start a regional social forum process. The meeting in Ipswich will be an opportunity for more groups and individuals to get involved. Interest in this has been spreading rapidly since the first EASF gathering in Colchester in May, which was attended by activists from a variety of groups in Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
All groups and individuals working towards a more just, equal, peaceful and sustainable world are welcome.
The EASF will be promoting and participating in the forthcoming European Social Forum (ESF) in London in October, as well as the great protest for peace and global justice when the G8 world leaders meet in Scotland next year.

PS...people might also be interested in the anti-war play, WARCRIME! From 30th June to 3rd July at Bentwaters Airbase, Suffolk.
An acclaimed anti-war play, touring the country, performed at unusual and evocative venues....Transport from New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich to Bentwaters every night, leaves 7.30. Contact theatre. For further info see:  http://www.stopwar.org.uk/action.asp or  http://www.warcrime.org.uk.
"A young woman killed by an off-course cluster bomb is brought face-to-face in a courtroom with the pilot who killed her. A Tribunal or a Kangaroo Court? Due Process. You decide...
Based on real events, Warcrime exposes the gaps between CNN and real lives. When observing from this distance, do we really know anything about the people we are so quick to assess? In an evocative and disturbing remote location, Warcrime confronts the absurdities and human costs of recent wars and interventions - and those still to come"
