Links to the Far Right

Susan | 09.06.2004 10:28

We need to be wooried about the links between the Far Right and the pro Palestinian campaign

The ever growing links between the Far Right in Europe and the pro Palestian campaigns are not getting the coverage they deserve. Indeed comments on them have even been removed from IndyMedia (why ?)

In Germany as the picture here shows the links are strong and real. Prominant Combat 18 and BNP activists have already been seen alongside protestors in London. Vigilance is needed.

particular german problem

09.06.2004 10:55

This seems to be a particular german problem. However, just because the far right tries to
abuse the palestinians for their own agenda, does not mean the left has to dissasociate with continuially pointin gout the human rights abuses and violations as well as discrimination of other races and believes in Israel.

Everybody who demands to dissasociation of the left by ignoring these situations should be ashamed of themselves, especially as they also fall into the back of the left progressive and libertarian Israelis, stuggeling for a peacefull and collaborative existance.

Not just Germany

09.06.2004 11:12

This is far from being just a German problem. The Paris based Support for Palestine organisation became discredited among the French activist movement because of its involvement with far right groups.

In the UK a number of far right supporting individuals have been spotted at pro Palestinian rallies and protests. The recent demo outside 10 Downing Street saw three known Facists among the crowd and yet no action was taken or called for.

If we are to avoid the cry of "anti Jewish" when voices are raised over Israeli crimes then we cannot afford involvement with the far right groups in our midst.

I too saw the removal of posts on this issue from Indy Media and found it both surprising and disapointing.

and why not

who cares if they do support far right groups as long as they help us in establishing a Palestinian homeland

what this tells us

09.06.2004 11:31

What this clearly shows is that those gullible enough to be taken in by anti-jewish propaganda and other manifestations of the right are easily manipulated.

The fact that many far right groups target all minorities does not seem to contradict their alleged pro-Palestinian position. In fact if the only "contribution" they can offer is opportunist beatings of innocent members of another minority and being part of teh usual racisl prejudice and discrimination, then we don't want it.

The leaders of these groups are well aware of the contradiction in claiming to support those they persecute with equal fervour. They cannot be as stupid as the semi-literate hooligans they recuit.

Is it opportunism?
Is it a divide-and-conquer policy?
Is it a ploy to discredit the leftist groups?

In any case, the connection muyst be opposed at all costs.

Nazis aren't interested in Palestinian rights

09.06.2004 11:39

The Nazis and fascists aren't interested in the rights of Palestinians. They're using their 'support' for Palestinians as a cover anti-Semitism and as an attempt to bolster their racist ideas of dividing people up on the basis of skin colour etc.

Nazis and fascists have no place in genuine campaigns that fight for Palestinian rights and against the state terrorism of Israel and the US ruling class. The only real way to get change is for workers of all colours to unite, not allow ourselves to be divided by racism and anti-Semitism.

Names and Addressess

If anybody has got any genuine information about Fascists attending pro-Palestinian demos then why not post their names here. There are a number of ISMers who are also actively involved in militant anti-fascism who might be able to give these wankers a nasty surprise. Mr David Irving certainly seemed quite surprised when some of the "Zionists" who smashed his meeting up in Sussex had been to Palestine with the ISM.

yours against all forms of intolerance and oppression.

So we have them amongst us now

09.06.2004 12:31

Greetings All!
Well I must admit that I am rather surprised that the "rentamob" wing of the SWP didn't encour a counter demo if these people were that obvious at the demos.

What we have to do is to make sure that every speaker speaks of not being an anti Jewish, mearly anti current incumbants of teh Israli state view. This is where the problems begin. Because to really beat the fascist wew ould haev to argue for one state to house both peoples rather than the more devisive and rasist two states, one per persons.

Many Regards As Ever

Truth hidden

09.06.2004 12:33

This issue has long been one that many have ignored. The well funded individuals from Germany, Austria and Romania that help to co-ordinate stone throwing and verbal protest in the Nablus region for example have been largly ignored by both the mainstream and independent media.

In the UK,at a pro Palestinian protest I have stood less than three feet away from a known Facsist who was sellig copies of Ward Kendall's sci-fi action thriller, "Hold Back This Day"

The picture above from Germany shows Nazis ADOPTING a pro-Palestine rethoric. Your subtext is: Nazis, pro-Palestine left-wingers and islamists are forming a UNITED FRONT! So we can no longer be in solidarity with Palestine, can we? That´s typical for a well orchestrated attack against altermondialists and pacifists both by sections of the bourgeois media, Ex-New-Left Hitchenite types and some bellicist pseudo-left sectarians. They form a bellicist alliance. Their argument also runs along the line: A) we must bring democracy to the arab countries, thus fighting “islamofascism; B) there is an new antisemitic anti-americanism in Europe. They conclude: We can´t fight against the discrimination of Palestinians and we cant fight together with muslim cause there are antisemites among them and cause nazis say they love palestinians. They conclude: we can´t fight war and capitalism cause the nazi claim that they are too! As far as possible links are concerned, Horst Mahler, Ex-New Left turned fascist met with islamist extremists in Berlin for a discussion a while ago. But this whole philo-islamic rethoric by SOME fascists does not go down well with the NPD-Nazi party rank and file who are more open to the NPD´s other side of the coin: openly racist propaganda against Muslim. This propaganda links well to the media, government and opposition politicians racist “Islam-scare” campaigns after the “war on terror” was declared. It also links well to the “islamofascism campaign” of the above mentioned bellicist alliance!
Check reality: yesterday a nail bomb ripped through a turkish working class area of Cologne, injuring 22.
