I am writing this a week after joining Helen John at a peace camp outside the Menwith Hill military base. Helen John has been a peace activist since joining the Greenham Common Peace camp many years ago and realising that she could never go home. Since then she has been involved in many actions agianst military bases in the UK. She is currently staying on the A59 outside Harrogate near to the American owned military base which looks like giant golf balls. These balls contain satalites. I have been told that tha base is used for spying on us commoners, tapping and tracing phone calls etc. The base is also currently under going some sinister renovations which means it will soon be used to control balistic missiles,(nasty!!). Helen is currently challanging an injunction to stop her from staying there overnight. I spent 2 nights with her and she is a fantastically determined woman. If at all possible i would encourage anyone in the area to go down and show her your support, she is very welcoming and makes a great cuppa!! She should be organising an event soon to commemorate the aneversary of the end of the ABM (anti balistic misile) treaty which now means those bastards can control everything from space.
