FREE TRADE VS COMMUNITY & WORKERS' RIGHTS? - Public Meeting

Friday June 11th, 7.30pm, Asian Cultural Centre

Here's a great opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of
the impact of IMF, World Bank and WTO policies on
developing countries.

Speakers:
Miriam Ruiz (Colombia), Christian Base Communities
Goodman Wayile (South Africa), trade unionist
Alrick Daniel (Antigua), trade unionist

The meeting will also be attended by other guests
from African, Asian and Eastern European countries
who are currently attending a training course at
Ruskin College (there's eight of them altogether.
They chose to nominate Goodman and Alrick to speak
from the platform, and the rest of them will
contribute from the floor).

This promises to give us an exciting opportunity to
hear voices and opinions from various parts of the world.

PS Apologies for the short notice, but the Colombian
authorities are obviously getting nervous about the
level of support activists are getting from this
country and have created all sort of problems. They
denied visas to 3 other speakers (one of whom was
also due to come here), and even Miriam's presence
has been in doubt until today.
