I have been at numerous peace rallies where I felt left out because of my
complete ignorance of the Arabic language. I have taken the time to learn
a few basic phrases, which I am posting here for the benefit of the non

sharmoota - refering to an arab’s sister
zib - What a man thinks with
Elif air ab tizak! - A blessing be upon you!
kisich - sister
Elif air ab dinich - The religion of peace
Mos zibby! - Waiter!
Waj ab zibik! - Blessing for a holy man from Mecca
kelbeh - Sir or Gentleman
Muti - Saudi word for mufti or islamic cleric
Kanith - Palestinian word for islamic cleric
Kwanii - holy soldier, of jihad
Bouse Tizi - thank you very much
Khawal - Mister, precedes a man’s name. Khawal Arafat
