Nine Ladies Support Action: 10:30am Friday 4th June 2004

Marshalls is a huge multinational company specializing in landscape and construction materials, especially stone.
Marshalls is particularly “hot” at the moment as its subsidiary Stancliffe Stone is behind the plan to quarry the hillside bellow Stanton moor, right next to the Nine Ladies stone circle. This insidious plan to quarry a place of rare beauty in the middle of the Peak District National Park has been up to now unsuccessful due to the fight put up by the people at the Nine Ladies protest camp. Marshalls however has recently stepped up the pressure to evict the camp and go ahead with the quarrying.

The plans by Marshalls could make it possible to re-open all the disused quarries in the Peak Park for active quarrying.

Meet up at: The picnic spot, Darley Bridge, Darley Dale off A6, North West of Matlock Derbyshire. For security reasons the exact location will be announced on the day.

The action is within a twenty minute drive from the meeting point.Bring noise makers, banners, good humor and energy. Non Violent Direct Action

Lets stop Marshalls form ripping the heart out of the Peak District National Park
