Street Medic Training - Saturday 5th June

tom | 26.05.2004 09:32 | Oxford

First Aid for Activists. This is a workshop focusing on the skills needed to cope with problems that activists might have to face, that will go beyond the scope of
most First Aid training courses of a similar length.

It's going to be taught by
two experienced 'street medics'. Techniques, espescially for dealing with stress
and injuries that might be sustained in Public Order Situations, this is a
good intro to taking care of each other in dangerous and difficult conditions. If
you come at the start, there's no pressure to stay the whole way through and
if you want to come late, then that's also fine but if you could drop me a mail
(thomas.daleATccc.ox.ac.uk) that would help.

There'll be lotsa breaks and stuff. It's a long day, but should be really,
really rewarding. From personal experience: if or when you need them, you'll
really wish you had the skills.

This is also in the New Music Room, Corpus Christi College, Merton Street
(off High Street). This event is free (!), but if a few people could contribute a
quid or so toward transport costs, that would be cool.
