VOTE GREEN IN EURO-ELECTIONS SAYS GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL ORGANISER

Following the lead of gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, Michael Eavis
opened this weeks Glastonbury Green Fair saying: ''Disillusioned Labour
voters can send a clear message of protest to Tony Blair about this immoral
and horrific war in Iraq by voting Green in the European elections on June
10th''

Wearing his customary Glastonbury sweatshirt he continued: "Perhaps the G on
my sweatshirt stands not only for Glastonbury and Grandad but also, in this
election, for Green."

The former Labour party general election candidate also took the opportunity
to make a substantial donation, handing over a cheque to the Green Party's
no1 candidate for the South West, David Taylor. David welcomed the donation
and pledge of support saying: "People are realizing that the Green Party is
the real home of the anti-war vote. We are the only major political party to
consistently oppose the war and offer a real voice of protest against Bush
and Blair."

The Green Fair coincides with a three day visit to Glastonbury by the Party'
s Big Green Bus Tour. The Green Bus, which is already half way through its
pre-election tour of the South West, has been spreading the Green message,
acting as a mobile drop-in facility and staging a series of concerts and
club nights along the way.
