Walid Shoebat

Zionist Fighter | 14.05.2004 11:06 | Anti-racism | London

he remembers hating jews because he was told they drank blood of arabs

last night we saw Walid Shoebat talk in london and i would like you people to comment.

Walid grew up with his mum and dad in an arab village in the 60s in israel he and his friends had to sing the Jordanian anthem at school he remembers clearly one day being told he was now a palestinian he remembers the star being taken from the flag, he remebers learning songs which he told us in arabic about jews being the sons of pigs and apes.

He remembers going on a school trip to Jerusalem and seeing the gorrilla and the teacher telling the kids it was a Jew.

He remembers in 1967 quite clearly all his freind and neighbours left off their own accord no Israelis came in til after.

He remembers hating Jews because he was told they drank blood of arabs.

This man put a bomb in an Israeli bank but changed his mind last minute as he saw arab kids outside.

This man went to the states to fundraise for the PLO, he met a girl he fell in love he is now a christian and tells the world about the palestinian schooling he got which no doubt is taught to all of the kids.

This is the reason why they kill us and want Israel destroyed. Its nothing to do with land, its to do wiht the sword of islam wiping out Jews.

For you to say heroic killing of people is incitment its disgusting shame on you.
Walid Shoebat is an arab he is a great man and i wish you would spend just 2 minutes with him, maybe then you would change your minds

Racist drivel

16.05.2004 13:49

Racist drivel . . . interesting that the only Palestinian-Zionistthat the zionists can dredge up is a christian-fundamentalist while there are hundreds of Jews both secular and religious who oppose Zionism and it's racist policies around the world.

In Israel over 1000 soldiers have refused to serve in the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory.

Udo, look at the facts

17.05.2004 11:24

Everyone knows that Israel is making mistakes. Everyone knows that the situation needs improvement. But to discredit the testimony of a person on the inside just becasue it does not sit well with your interpretation of certain facts is dishonest.
The 1000 soldiers that have refused to serve do not do so because they think the Palestinian cause is necessarily correct. they do it because they dont think that fighting will help any longer. to jusxtapose that fact, with the words of aman who has had the courage to change and to expose a murderous regime is unsubtle at best, and downright biased at worst.
maybe you just hate israel but I hope you are open minded enough to consider making a change like Walid did.

good luck to you

Walid Shoebat Shouldn't be Admired

24.05.2004 08:32

Walid Shoebat's entire analysis comes down to one of religion. He has no secular analysis of Israel's policies toward the Palestinians. Instead, he talks of a biblical right to he land that Jews have. He also condemns Islam generally, while praising Christianity and Judaism, as if there aren't very violent aspects of all these religions. He's so mixed up that now he goes around condemning Islam -- saying that Islam and violence are intrinsically linked together.

Shoebats views extend beyond the issue of Palestine. Below are some of his
anti-Islamic remarks:
"I come to you out of love for your people and your Bible, to say my
people are wrong. The Arabs and Muslims are wrong."
“Afghans in the U.S. and Iranians who left Iran are predominately
peaceful people. The Arabic speaking communities in America, however, do
indeed support Osama bin Ladin and Hamas.†He cites a direct correlation
between adherence to Islam and support of terrorism. “The less they know
about Islam the more peaceful they are,†he said.
“There are those that reject many of the classical sources and truly
focus on the peaceful verses of the Koran, seeking to twist the verses
because they truly do not want to engage in violence,†said Shoebat,
“but if those preachers would debate Osama bin Ladin, bin Ladin would
clearly win because the words of the Koran are on his side.â€

Shoebat doesn't talk about the historic context of the condition that Palestinians live under. To him, everything boils down to religion, which is ridiculous. In 1948, nearly 800,000 Palestinians were made into refugees, hundreds of Palestinian villages were destroyed, and countless Palestinians were massacred. Israel is a state founded on the belief that Jewish rights should be held above everyone else's, no matter the fact that it was founded where there was another people, the Palestinians. Shoebat is racist wingnut. Please don't be fulled into accepting his racist comments.

Much has been said about the refugee Issue. I Think It would be very usefull to look at the Chronology of events and talk about what actually happened.

Re the Palistinian Refugee issue

24.06.2004 06:08

During the fighting in the 1948-49 war, thousands of Arabs living in the territory that became Israel fled. The main reason they fled was that they understandably wanted to put some distance between their families and the battle zones. At the same time, they were ordered by the Arab political leadership to leave the territory of Israel. Why take my word on this? Listen to Arab sources:

"The Arab States encouraged the Palestine Arabs to leave their homes temporarily in order to be out of the way of the Arab invasion armies."
- Falastin (Jordanian newspaper), February 19, 1949

"The Arab governments told us: Get out so that we can get in. So we got out, but they did not get in."
- from the Jordan daily Ad Difaa, September 6, 1954

""The Arab armies entered Palestine to protect the Palestinians from the Zionist tyranny but, instead, THEY ABANDONED THEM, FORCED THEM TO EMIGRATE AND TO LEAVE THEIR HOMELAND" (emphasis added), Abu Mazen, erstwhile "Prime Minister" of the Palestinian Authority, in "What We Have Learned and What We Should Do", published in Falastin el Thawra, the official journal of the PLO, of Beirut, in March 1976.
The number of Arabs that actually left has become enormously distorted over time by the Bash-Israel lobby and by Arab propagandists and their apologists, who usually claim between 500,000 and a million. A more realistic estimate is between 300,000 and 450,000, based in part on Arab and UNRWA sources themselves ( http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~samuel/refugees.html ). Most of these refugees ended up in some of the twenty-two sovereign Arab states, including those Arab countries from which they had migrated into "Palestine" in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the first place. In other words, the "refugees" went back to their earlier homelands in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. It was a sort of "right of return." At the same time, the Arab states carried out a near-total ethnic cleansing of around a million Jews, who had been living there since Biblical days and in many cases before these states had Arab populations.
We seldom hear this side of the story.
