Home Secretary David Blunkett will be speaking at Sheffield University on Friday 14 May 2004 at 2pm in Elmfield Room 215.


David Blunkett has numerously attacked our rights to protest, assemble and so forth, and is seen as an enemy to human rights and persecutor of refugees.
If you are able to make it, please go and (politely) ask questions and voice your opposition to his policies

Destroying democracey to preserve it?

Mr Blunkett. I know I am not alone in the disgust I feel for your party’s complicity in the destruction of democracy. I find it particularly distasteful when I consider the years in opposition to Thatcher’s government. Your personal views were represented as of the highest egalitarian character. What a difference power has made Mr Blunkett, you dispense quasi Fascist policies with apparent ease and No principled objection at all! Hypocrite! I will never vote for your money serving power mad bloodless control freakery again!
