OCSET Mark 2 - transformation from a dreary dump to a magic cave

eileen | 11.05.2004 18:47 | Culture | Free Spaces | Social Struggles | Oxford

New social centre on the Cowley Road Oxford has become a Thing of Beauty!!

These guys really deserve a medal! The front room of the new OCSET was, only a week or so ago, a dreary, dank, rubble-filled room. Now it has been transformed by the efforts and artistic talents of a few mysterious people into an enchanted and inspiring space, full of colour and beautiful wall-paintings. Unfortunately in another few weeks it will probably revert to rubble again, or at least be covered in thick magnolia paint, as it changes back to boring commercial premises.

...are still worth building, even though they're temporary.

Gorgeous! Thanks for the pics.

And, as the writing on OCSET wall says 'Even if the world was to end tomorrow I would still paint a wall today'....

(variation on an apple tree theme)
