The atmosphere on the Countryside Alliance stand at the Quarry (kindly sponsored by Wadworth's brewery) was buzzing despite the Badminton rain and mud. Hounds and staff from five local packs including the Duke of Beaufort, the Berkeley, the Cotswold, the Wick and District Beagles and the Marlborough College Beagles took time out to meet and greet the public, handing out goody bags and stickers.

Surprisingly enough, lots of people thought the beagles were puppies and didn't realise they were working hunting dogs! Proof, if proof were needed, that we can't take for granted peoples' knowledge of hunting. Many thanks to all the volunteers and staff who helped to make Badminton 2004 such a success.
