Why is the sicial centre not on the central column?

Indymedia admin stuff. Someone from indymedia please read

Hi.

I don't know what email address I should try, but I'm a bit u[pset that nobody has put the posts about printworks in the central column.

I've been involved in the project for a while, so I realise I would think it important, but I genuinely think that the fact we have an autonomous social centre open in Glasgow is newsworthy and should be supported. We have lots of events going on, and a lousy horrible website (anyone who wants to help please get in touch - we desperately need it. Best is to come in or phone the centre. 58 Albion St. 01415524551)

Who decides what gets promoted to the central column? And what is the deal with the new scotland indymedia site?

How stuff works

07.05.2004 14:36

Hi Ginger

The regional sections of the UK site are sorted by different regional groups, if you look on the contact page there are email lists for the local collectives listed:

 http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/static/contact.html

More (not all, some are hosted on other servers) IMC lists are listed on the global list server:

 http://lists.indymedia.org/

With regard to the fact that there are now two Scottish IMC web sites:

 http://scotland.indymedia.org/

and

 http://scotland.indymedia.org.uk/

This is probably best raised on the Scotland IMC list:

 http://lists.indymedia.org/imc-scotland-discussion

Hope this helps :-)

Chris

because nobody has written a feature about it yet

07.05.2004 16:24

Middle column features should be linking to articles in the newswires, and provide a summary of whats happening with all available information.

At the moment, it is quite unclear what exactly the contact details are - postal and telephone- for the social centre, what and when the forthcoming events are and what the set-up is in general.

As I am based in Edinburgh i can't write easily write stuff about campaigns in Glasgow I am not involved in.

If anybody would write a nice, comprehensive article linking to all the other relevant articles and providing the necessary information, it would be appreicated to have a feature about it in the middle column.

Feature proposals can be made via the email list:  imc-scotland-discussion@lists.indymedia.org or articles who are contributed into the newswire on the independant site  http://scotland.indymedia.org can be rated/promoted up into the middle column, if signed up for a log-in.

to say the truth

it was expected that the autonomous project lot could write the feature themselves ;-)
