The Liverpool Kensington New Deal initiative is being used to expunge poor peopl

Mike Lane | 05.05.2004 15:04 | Liverpool

Gentrification means: Knock down tenant’s houses then build new estates for sale. Each house costing £100,000. Then bring in the upper working classes and the middle classes. What sort of a future lays ahead for us poor working class tenants?

Take a look at the latest Whistle Blower leaflet and see what is going on in my working class community. See how the middle classes come in and impose their cultural perspective onto the community. See how the Housing association Community 7, who are a subsidiary of the ruthless Riverside Housing, lie, cheat and subjugate the community.

Agitation at its best...

I'm getting to appreciate your usage of cartoons, you know a picture says a thousands words, they are in actual fact pretty powerful, they're very 'agitational' - good on ya' dude. Imagine doing this kind of thing up in Kirkby against Sonae, Oooh but that's another campaign or project for the future, we've gotta save a good family from eviction in Kensington presently, and we're on to it folks... Don't mess with us committed tenant activists anymore we've had enough nicey-nicey talk, it's time to move to the next step!

Mad bloke

So this is where that mad fella delivering offensive leaflets across Kenny finds his kindred spirits?! Cartoons taking the p*** out of scouse language and frightening locals into thinking all their houses are gonna be knocked down.

Get a life. Never done anything except listen to the sound of your own voice (others around here have told me that as well).

You and that Conservative fella (Frank?) couldn't represent anything. And you don't even live in the ward you're standing in!!

Garston regeneration

I don't know much about politics or whatever, and I wouldn't know how to find out about corruption or whatever but there is something wrong with how Riverside and Liverpool housing trust and south liverpool housing along with garston urban development or the urban village development. The people of garston were promised new housing what they are getting is moved out of garston and a new housing estate being built for sale. The consultation promised everyone who wanted to stay would get a house, they have moved out virtually everyone apart from the diehards who are usually the elderly. Those who have bought their homes are offered ridiculously low prices which will not let them buy into the new estate even in parnership with a housing assoc. The whole thing appears to be a plot to get the land to build housing for the white collar workers that will be attracted to the estuary commerce park
