Climate change Vigil – Wednesday May 12th 6pm – Clarenden Building Broad Street, Oxford

Recent reports in Nature suggest 1 million species may become extinct by 2050 due to climate change.
A vigil to mark and contemplate the effects of climate change will be held near the Clarenden Building (at the East end of Broad street) in Oxford Town Centre at 6pm on Wednesday 12th May.
The event will include speakers and a chance for reflection.

All welcome

Crying wold on extinction and climate change

I suggest those involved in the organisation of this event, read the following article:

 http://www.geog.ox.ac.uk/research/biodiversity/pubs/crywolf.pdf

You may find that the claims of 1 million species being extinct in 2050 to be a gross misrepresentation of the Nature article.

Best wishes
