IndyMedia Censorship?

Zinfandel | 05.05.2004 10:11 | Anti-militarism | Repression | Social Struggles | London

Why was this article removed from the newswire?

Whilst now I accept that the authenticity of these photographs is seriously in question (I had commented about this in the original post), I was not aware of the phenomenon of 'fantasy war based porn'. The issues arising from this are also relevant, are they not? Or are you suggesting that this kind of 'entertainment' is too trivial or titilating to be of any significance. There is an extremely grave issue here, namely that there is evidently a market for such material which stretches the definition of pornography to new depths.

Frankly, believing them to be authentic, I found the images too shocking to look at and could not bring myself to upload them for immediate viewing, hence the link. As an example of what 'gets people off' I am not sure what I find more shocking, the thought of the occupying forces doing what they have done for thousands of years - and as such an almost 'normalised' behaviour which has somehow become part of our everyday language, i.e. 'raping and pillaging' as an expression does not have the emotive impact of 'rape' - or the thought that people (men I assume) get sexual pleasure from watching it being dramatised.

This is an issue and ought not to be swept aside or even censored becuase of some misguided politically correct policy. Averting ones eyes does not make it go away!

rape may be real as many porn models are forced such as linda lovelace

but it not taking place in iraq

The models can be seen for hire on other website run by same people who run fantasy rape porn site where photos come from.

Soldiers are raping in iraq I am sure but these photos not proof.

0000

Yes - they are likely to be fake!

I don't want to appear rude '0000' but did you read the article I posted? I accept that they are probably not real. The point is that there is still a serious issue here and that whilst this kind of thing persists so does the acceptability of the inhuman treatment of others.

As for other photos, there is much to be questioned about some of them:
