Oxford Teach-In on the Kurdish Crisis in Iraq and Turkey

OSAN (posted by IMC) | 02.05.2004 00:14 | Culture | Repression | Social Struggles | Oxford

this is a workshop u might consider going to. it should be very interesting as it is organised by a kurdish university student who was expelled by turkey 3 years ago for having signed a petition in favour of the kurdish people ( at least according to him ).

this guy got in contact with osan, came to oxford to meet us and asked for some support to raise awareness on the kurdish cause.
unfortunately, the kurdish people lack the basic asset which is needed in order to get you case be heard by the western powers: lots of oil. therefore the plight of the kurdish people is often unknown to the great public, even if this people (scattered across a region which comprises parts of turkish, iraqi and iranian territory) often is forced to live under conditions of brutual oppression.

in order to know more about this silent tragedy, come as many as possible at Wadham College Old Refectory
