In defence of trolls.

So-called "trolls" have had a bad press, but are not always what they seem.

“Troll” seems to mean “devil’s advocate”, an old-established and respected device for stimulating discussion and encouraging people to air their views, which is what Indymedia is supposed to be all about. Unfortunately, the rather stuffy and (in some cases) middle-aged Oxford Indymedia establishment have not had the wit to realise this, and have even hidden some of their own people’s defence of Ocset, except from readers in Leeds and Bradford! I think it is an honour to be considered a troll.
