Memefest 2004, the international festival of radical communications, has thrown open the doors on their annual competition and showcase of creative subversion.

All artists, activists, malingerers and malcontents are invited to submit work to the Beyond category  http://beyond.memefest.org/. It’s for folk interested in innovating radical communications models which fall completely outside of the commercial paradigm.

And, students of Visual Arts and Design are invited to respond to the challenges set forth in the text Design is Not Enough. While students of Communications and Sociology can enter essays which tackle the predictions set forth in Cyberwar is Coming by the RAND Institute. Details at  http://www.memefest.org/.

All entries are published in our online gallery where they are discussed and workshopped with visitors to the site. In early summer, the entries are evaluated by an international jury of leading radical thinkers, visual artists, and communications professionals. This year’s jury includes Douglas Rushkoff, Brian Holmes, PK Langshaw, Tanja Rener, and Howard Rheingold.

Last year, Memefest’s online gallery was filled up by over 250 entries from 26 different countries.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: MAY 20th, 2004

Subvert. Create. Enjoy.

aaahh good old richard dawkins mind control program

still up and running is it?

well you can tell can't you..?

because they make a competition out of expression...

how revolutionary...

Real memetic culture cannot be judged because it is a VIRUS
it is constantly upgrading itself
it has no name...

these and others like them hijack the meme 'meme' to
feed the advertising industry with cheap ideas for the next
fashion parade...

what they think is a meme is a trend product...

it's a con , they make you feel clever by using strange words

it's a cult pretending to be revolutionary

and anyone with an ounce of common should be able to see this
corporate shit a mile off...

bury the cliques ...

end the cliche...
