STOP THE BNP - STOP LEPENN

All Trade Unionists and Anti-Fascists are urged to meet on Sunday
25th April at 1.00 pm at: All Saints Park : Oxford Road
Manchester (near B.B.C. T.V.)

To stop the leader of the French Fascist Party Le Pen holding a press
conference to launch the B.N.P. European Campaign. We know the event
is scheduled for 2.00 pm but we will not find out the venue until
Sunday morning.

Greater Manchester T.U.C., U.A.F. and Searchlight urge everyone to
keep Manchester a Fascist Free Zone by joining our protest and
meeting at the assembly point, then demonstrate at the B.N.P. meeting.
Jean Marie Le Pen, leader of the French fascist organisation the
Front National, has been invited to speak in the UK by the Nazi BNP.
They are claiming this will take place somewhere in Manchester has
called a rally for Sunday and already this has the support of the
Manchester TUC, U.A.F. and Searchlight. Everyone needs to know about
this rally, everyone needs to mobilise, because Le Pen and his
fascist friends in the BNP pose a danger to all.
Le Pen has at least six convictions for inciting racial hatred and
for anti-Muslim remarks. He is the leader of France's biggest fascist
party; his organisation actively promotes racism and discrimination.
In the 1980s Le Pen boasted that the Holocaust, during which millions
of people were murdered, was 'a mere detail of history'. He has
refused to withdraw that remark, and has made many similar statements
since. In 1998 Le Pen publicly argued that he believed in
the 'inequality of races' and he has made repeated anti-Semitic
comments on French TV.
The last time Le Pen came to the UK he was driven out thanks to mass
protests. In Edinburgh the hotel was forced to cancel his planned
rally and he left by the back door - this was headline news in France
& strengthened the fight against fascism there. Now he is back again
and it t is no surprise that he has agreed to raise funds for the
BNP. Their leader Nick Griffin received a two year suspended jail
sentence having denied the existence of the holocaust against Jews.
Fascist organisations like the BNP and the Front Nationale represent
a threat to our democracy and our way of life. Their activities seek
to whip up racism, division and discord.
We will not let that happen here! Join us in All Saints Park, Oxford
Road, Manchester to give voice peacefully and with dignity to our
rejection of fascism, the politics of hate.
