22nd April screening of 'THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED'

This Thursday the 'Hands Off Venezuela' campaign will be screening the breathtaking documentary 'The Revolution will not be Televised' at Café Rebelde in Tufnell Park, London. This will be followed by an open discussion and eyewitness report from Jorge Martin, who has just returned from Venezuela.

As you may already know, the film was shot during the April 2002 two-day coup and counter-coup, and has been the target of a vicious smear campaign by right-wing Chávez-haters both inside and out of Venezuela. For example, Amnesty International withdrew the documentary from their human-rights film festival in Canada because they feared for the safety of their staff in Venezuela (at least, that was the reason given).

This is great chance to re-live an unbelievable and totally unexpected moment in history, which seems even more relevant now two years later, in a warm and relaxed atmosphere along with other supporters of the Bolivarian process. Traditional venezuelan arepas will be served but you are encouraged to bring your own rum!

7pm Thursday 22nd April, Café Rebelde Zapatista @ the 'ex-Grand Banks' social center, corner of Fortess and Brecknock roads, directly opposite Tufnell Park tube station, NW5. Pass this on - spread the word!
