An Interesting Day:
President Bush's Movements and Actions on 9/11
By Allan Wood and Paul Thompson
May 9, 2003
"It was an interesting day." - President Bush, recalling 9/11 [White House, 1/5/02]

A facinating article outlining numerous lies, deceits and cock-ups in Bush's accounts of what he did and saw on 9/11 as the planes came crashing in......

anybody want some chips? I can't eat any more of these and they're going cold.

I'm gonna throw them away if no one wants them...

This is an interesting piece, albeit written from a strong anti-Bush viewpoint, but I'm not sure what it proves. What did Bush know and when ? Well it doesn't really tell us and since much of the timeline is based on the memories of journalists (trust me we're not that reliable !) it can hardly be called conclusive.

On the positive side it shows a great deal of background research.

What does it tell us?

THe point of good journalism should surely be not to tell us anything other than what went on - it should not be the role of journalists to make the conclsions from what is going on their job is to report (unless you make distinctions between journalists and reporters).

What it does show is that there is a great deal of confusion going on and at the very least it is extrememly shocking to think that Bush thinks he saw the first plane hit the tower on TV that morning!
