CAMPAIGN AGAINST PRISON SLAVERY
Pickets Of Leeds Wilkinson's And Armley Jail
As part of the Campaign Against Prison Slavery national Day Of Action against Wilkinson's prison slavers on April 24th, Leeds CAPS will again be picketing Wilko's city-centre store. This will be the 20th picket held by the Leeds group since the anti-Wilko's campaign began just over a year ago. April 24th is just the latest Day of Action against Wilkinson's, called to protest their continued use of slave labour in British prisons, and will see activists around the country picketing branches of the high-street chain.
The Leeds picket will commence at 12 Noon, and local supporters are asked to attend with banners and placards. For those coming from out of town, Wilko's is located in the Albion Street shopping precinct in the city-centre, a short walk from the train and bus stations.
Following the Wilko's picket activists plan to move to Leeds own Armley Prison to leaflet prisoners' families on the campaign, and let them know that those prisoners who refuse to submit to slavery do not stand alone. There will be a CAPS presence at the jail from 1.30pm. Please join us.
