In an unprecedented high profile vote the residents of a Los Angeles suburb
have fought off the mega corporation Wal Mart.

rejected the plan on the grounds that the economy of the area would suffer.Local Unions
pointed out WAL MARTS's strict anti union policy.
Wal Mart spent millions going over the heads of the local government setting up a ballot
on the scheme with the local population and despite all this they lost with 66.1% over the vote going against them.
