European Creative Forum for hippy entrepeneurs

Likfestyle hippies and middle class dropouts wanting a boost to their careers see ESF as possiuble way in to media/arts-politics hierarchies. Glamorous , eh?

Why? Looks like another business bandwaggon opportunity for the middle class. Seen a lot of this recently in the anti-war, and squat scenes. I notice some of the money grabbing egiotststical liberal hippy bullshit culprits and admin-crazed ( its all for charity mate, bish bosh) middle class culprits on the list. Go get that funding you egotists. Happy for it to come out of my council tax. ( like shite! )

Here's some of their waffle:- "art as a medium for expression that goes beyond the limitation of language"

Art is a language, moron. Going beyond language???????

art can transcend language...

aside from what the original author meant when they posted the article, perhaps art can express things which are not possible to convey using verbal language - in that way art could be said to "go beyond the limitations of language".

for example, how does a piece of music make you feel, or a certain picture? try to describe the taste of your favourite food. this need not be an esoteric exercise - you could just as easily think about your favourite nu-metal band as you could think about a Mahler symphony.

i by no means a philosopher, as you can easily tell, but it's quite easy for me to think about when language breaks down and 'art' takes over.

2 points:-
1./ This is not nonsensical. many people have been using the 'protest movements' to further careers in the mainstream media/arts sectors rather than to genuinly challenge it.
2./ I did not say that language has to be VERBAL. 'Language is the 'house of being - In its home man (sic) dwells' - it may very well be NVC ( see Michael Argyle for instance ), it may be using the organoleptic senses, or it may audio, or touch. If you read up on language, maybe you will understand.
