have you got any other format like mpeg i cant play rm files
i could go on about proprietory soft ware but i wont
i know its free but it aint really loads of ad-ware in real
takes up bandwidth even when not on and spies on you
also changes all your files and is a general pain in the ass
ok so i did go on a bit but its hard to stop when i get going

but id love to see the vid i thought the puppets looked
briliant and i used to make stuff like that for nottin hill
carnaval so i should know
well done to all who were in the parade and who made the superb puppets and costumes

i would have liked it to have been mpeg but it would have been at least 60mb for something just about watchable. i dont like realmedia either, i use it to keep the size down, and realmedia 8 is also compatible with windows, mac, and linux. but i could do mpeg4 (*.avi) or windows media (*.wmv) :( , which would also be small

any suggestions are very welcome, as its difficult finding formats that are suitable

Alternative Format

I haven't seen the video.. yet .. but

1. I hear the complaints on file size for more open formats
but you can alter the bitrate and dimensions of the video for different file sizes

like you could do a 352x288 pixel version or a 160X140 version at a quarter the files size

2. mpeg4 divx is pretty good quality v file size

another mpeg4 option

xvid is also very good, and mpeg4 compliant as well as open source. mp3 seems to be best for audio, since no-one has to download a special codec to hear it.

How does one save to file ?

Scuse my ignorance of matters technical but how can I save this to file ? It keeps stopping to buffer when I try to play it straight so it would be better to run it from the hard drive or a disk would it not ?

You can download streamed files with software that 'cheats' the server into downloading it. Probably easiest just to go to a fast internet cafe.
