My independent, non-profit film company SilenceBreaker Films are screening our first feature-length film "Tales from Nowhere" at 6.30pm on Thursday, April 8th, at the Showroom cinema.
"Tales from Nowhere" focuses on the lives of a group of young people who live on a council estate in Rotherham:
Alex, an 18 year old student drop-out, is insulted mercilessly by the local gang of teens for his difference in appearance and tastes. Helped to stay sane by the affection of his girlfriend and his friends, he manages to avoid serious trouble, until he witnesses a local robbery…
Jamie and Jason, a pair of brothers from out of the area, find themselves thrown into the world of Greendale when they are offered a council house there. Their paths take seemingly different routes when the teens force their way into their lives, under pretence of assistance and friendship…
Mark, a 15 year old gang member, living unhappily with his father and older brother, enjoys hanging out in the bus stop, drinking cider, smoking drugs, and the odd burglary, before his criminal nature gets the better of him, and his dad’s temper…
And throughout, Melanie, an 18 year old recovering heroin addict, watches the trials and tribulations of all in Greendale from a forced distance, whilst battling demons of her own…
"Tales from Nowhere" was funded by SRB3, Voluntary Action Rotherham, and Awards For All.
