Defiant child of the hidden America;
that other republic yet to be born.
In her stance i saw my sister;
In her face i saw our future.
She who would not stand down
Shamed the might of the killing machine;
Gave her life to the bringers of death,
From her passionate rage to her calm smile.
All this, crushed under bloodstained steel
