Demo in support of refugee hunger strikers
michael c | 12.03.2004 15:23 | Migration
There will be a protest at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh next Thursday March 18 at 11.30am, for the three Kurdish hunger strikers.
We hope that they will survive the next week, and that this protest, prior to First Minister's Questions, can successfully bring pressure on Blunkett (to withdraw the deportation orders)and McConnell (to break his silence on Blunkett's culpability).
High profile speakers from across Scottish public life are expected to attend if you can, and bring banners from your trade union, political party or organisation.
Needless to say, we are constantly engaged in other initiatives, both politically and legally, to try to save the men's lives in the interim.
Yours for human rights,
Mark Brown,
secretary,
