Local food web provides a search engine service for buying and selling locally produced food products by area, throughout the untire UK. you simply log on and search for your location and it gives you a list of local producers and suppliers.

review of nation local food initiative:

The emphasis for Local Food Web is on businesses that sell directly to the consumer. We don't have any plans to extend beyond that for the time being, though it's something we might be able to consider in the future.

the web site advertises on Google, though the recommendations do play an important part in spreading the word.

People register themselves and so we do not keep a separate database.

We don't receive, nor have we sought, financial support from institutions. I'm sure we might have been able to attract some but Local Food Web is a purely commercial venture - though labour of love might be a more accurate description!

This is just blatant advertising. There are some questionable shops on the site and
much of the stuff is not 'local' ( unless Mexico happens to be adjacent to hackney :-(
More niche marketing...Get the reformist greenwash dollars , eh?

reclaim the land now by any means...

misleading

The title of this post is 'local food initiatives', but the link is to:

'a comprehensive directory of the good food on your doorstep, from farm
shops and speciality food retailers to farmers' markets and village stores.'

There's more to 'local food initiatives' than different kinds of shops and businesses!

What about allotments, binraiding, permaculture etc etc?!?

It seems like the title is designed to give the whole thing a more radical veneer
so the post isn't hidden as advertising ;)
