come and help leaflet - 13th March

The fascist BNP are contesting a by-election in Calne, Wiltshire on March 18th.
Candidate Robert Baggs is a star turn for the BNP trying to pretend they are not nazi thugs. He is an apparently “respectable” figure, manager of the local NHS doctors practice, and nephew of former Tory mayor of Calne, Mercy Baggs.
I wouldn’t want to spread rumours that might cause any trouble for the man, but I understand he has been heard bad-mouthing other BNP members, saying he wouldn’t want to meet many people from the London BNP in a dark alley.

Alarmingly the fascists scored 17% in the May election last year in the same ward.

Anti-fascists activists from Calne, Chippenham and Swindon will be doing a mass leaflet of the ward on Saturday 13th March, meeting at 11:00 am in the car park of St Edmunds church, Oxford Rd, Calne. Please turn out and help.

We had a good result in Malmesbury last week where 18 local people turned out to picket an advertised BNP meeting in the local pub, that resulted in a front page of the Western Daily Press taking the piss out of the BNP.

If you want to contact Robert Baggs you could write to him at: 224 Oxford Road, Calne, Wiltshire, SN11 8AN
