Tree Destruction at Blackwood - Pics

Friends of Blackwood | 01.03.2004 22:41 | Ecology | Free Spaces | Globalisation

1st March, St David's Day: Pictures from St David's Wood, Blackwood, South Wales, where Costain are building a new road to link together two industrial parks - not that there isn't road access already you understand. A suspension bridge will also be built across the valley further linking the new road to the existing ones. The pictures show the scene along much of the old railway track, however the oldest trees are in the area defended by the two camps. Local support is great, it just needs more bodies on the ground

Excellent photos but to see the real horror of what is happening
you need to go there and see it for yourself. You will recieve a
warm welcome. Please go with your friends as soon as possible,
especially Wednesday when some people will be away in court.

what an utter waste of councils money, there was a way around this disstruction but they did'nt want to know, why was the alternative route not suitable?do'es anybody know?i know my veiws wont count as much but felt that something had to be said.i can see the camp from where i live and can give those staying out all the luck in the world, they most certainly needed it these last few nights of bitter cold.GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CAUSE BOYS!!!!!
