well well

As if we needed any more proof who is behind the armed attack on
Haitian democracy, its paramilitary general announced today that he is holding off
the final assualt for a couple of days after 'a request from
Washington'. He then hastily added-an attempt to protect his employers no doubt-
that this was not a direct request but one that he saw 'on the internet'.

Uh!!??

Yes, and I'm a 5o foot transexual singing banana.

U.S Hypocrisy

The U.S is clearly not a fan of the current 'democratic' ruling regime and is supporting the rebels, despite consisting of the former military regimes followers. This goes against the whole war on terror and the spread of democracy that America so cherishes - however - If the U.S can pull this one off correctly - then surely the current regime (widley known to be corrupt and unpopular) will fall and if, and this is a big IF, the rebels can jointly organise future elections and/or a new democratic constitution then surely this can only be a good thing for Haiti.

My fingers are crossed, can a rebel army consisting of former military personal, abd being supported by George W Bush really overthrow a corrupt democratic order and replace it with one that works? It is surely in everyone's best interest to do so (even americas, who while no doubt ensuring the man they want for the job is selected, will at least establish a more stable democracy, if simply only to give their candidate greater legitmacy)
