Since the previous report another two protestors at the anti-Wall demonstration in Biddu have been killed by the Israeli army. The shooting continues. Use the phone and fax numbers providers to demand an end to the lethal violence used against this non-violent protest.
Update from http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2004/02/285996.html.
Since early this morning, the Israeli Army has shot rubber and live ammunitions and large amount of tear gas to the unarmed demonstrators in Biddu,
killing 3 young Palestinians:
- Zacharia Mahmoud Eid, 26 year old from Beit Iksa,
- Mohamed Rayan, 26 year old from Beit Diggo
- Mohamed Saleh Bedwan, 20 year old who got shot in the head by a rubber bullet.
Another man named Abu Nabil Abu Eid died from a heart attack, provoked by excessive amount of tear gas. Eye witnesses from the ISM reported that snipers were shooting directly at the crowd. An ambulance was also shot in the back window early in the afternoon and 50 Palestinians are reportedly injured. The shootings are still going on.
The demonstrators have been attempting to stop the bulldozers from destroying more olive groves for three days. About a hundred olive trees have been uprooted since the beginning of the protests.
One Israeli female activist was reportedly arrested earlier this morning in Beit Surik. 3 young Palestinians were arrested by plain-clothed forces in the protesters crowd.
7 ISM Volunteers are still in Biddu to show solidarity with the villagers' struggle for their farmlands and to protest against the use of excessive violence to disperse the demonstrators.

Protests to stop building Wall in Biddu

This has been enough circumstances for the Israeli army to use bullets and tear gas many times before. More than a hundred people have been injured during protests against the Wall in Deir Ballut, Masha, Beit Surik and many other villages already. Death is just the next step up in this campaign.

Below is my own protest sent today (before the second killings). If you don't have time to write your own protest, cut and paste it. Use it as a model letter--add a few of your comments, and e-mail or fax it asap.

Dear Ariel Sharon,
I have just received the appended information.
I am writing to protest, in the strongest possible terms, about these killings of unarmed, peaceful demonstrators by the Israeli army. There really does seem to be "a culture of impunity" in the Israeli Defence Force--as Jocelyn Hurndall alleges. And this culture has been established by YOU Mr Sharon. The buck stops with you.
Do you really think that you are going to solve the problem of terrorism by this kind of atrocity? If you do, I suggest that you are very badly advised.
Bring the killers in the IDF to justice immediately.
Yours etc,
Chris

The Israeli army even shot an Israeli peace activist with live ammo a little while ago, none of this surprises me anymore. We all know what the IDF are like now, the whole world has seen them, and people are awake to the truth.
The truth will always win. There are not many more lies the IDF have left to tell. The Israeli state is well and truly exposed to the world as the butcher it is. If only it had listened to reason, and followed the path of peace and justice...
