Sheffield University Top-Up Fees Protest

Demonstration on wednesday 25th February planned against the introduction of Top-Up fees.

At 12 noon on wednesday the Sheffield University Union of Students is to hold a demo against Top-Up fees. The demonstration coincides with the main teaching union, the AUT, holding a 2 day strike against the new framework for pay. The NUS and AUT are mutually supportive of each others aims. The demonstration will take place on the concourse outside the Union building.

Hallam university will be holding a demo of sound starting at Psalter Lane 11:00AM we will then travel via Collegaite Crescent to meet up with Sheffield University at their concourse.

Both Universities will then travel through town to Hallam City Campus for 13:00 and a rally with speakers from local MP's and Union leaders.

The Town Hall was also occupied for at least an hour by student en-route from the University of Sheffield to Hallam. They then proceded to the Hallam uni, very joyous!
