Now is the time for us to tell the world that Iraq has paid enough!

Please if you can come and join us we need lots of supporters!/Nadia

----------
DOES IT BOTHER YOU THAT SINCE THE FALL OF SADDAM IRAQ HAS PAID $1450 MILLION IN REPARATIONS?

This issue has had no coverage in the media and has been ignored by the Coalition. But the UN Compensation Commission is meeting again on 9-11th March to award yet more reparations against Iraq.

Now is the time for us to tell the world that Iraq has paid enough!

(almost $19bn paid, plus $28bn awarded so far)

In response an Iraqi demonstration is happening on 10th March at the UNCC in Geneva.

This has been initiated by Jubilee Iraq, a neutral organisation campaigning for the cancellation of all Saddam’s debt and reparations, involving Iraqis and other nationalities across the political spectrum (details on website). While the event is mainly for Iraqis, we would be delighted to have the support of fellow Arabs (particularly Kuwaitis).

CAN YOU JOIN US?

A day of your time and only around £100 travel and accommodation costs could highlight the scandal of the reparations in the world media and show that Iraqis are taking the initiative in building a better future for our country. This is a opportunity to make a small but real difference. We also intend to enjoy ourselves in Geneva before and after the demonstration!

Please contact Fay Mahdi by e-mail on  faymahdi@hotmail.com or by phone on 0044 781 406 7725. Information is also available at www.jubileeiraq.org

PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL AROUND THE IRAQI COMMUNITY, and ask your friends to join the group. We aim to get 100 people.
