After the protests against the NATO Security Conference in Munich 6-7 Feb 2004, one person is still in investigation prison. Some solidarity protests took already place. Next Demonstration: Friday, 13 Feb 2004, Munich, Meeting 5pm Stachus/Karlsplatz: March for immidiate release.
Against Nato "Securityconference" Protest in Munich: 10-12.000 participants satisfied with the demonstration. Despite of diverse provocations from police the demonstration could continue to the end. In Munich it is common to inform the police of persons dressed up or made up before a demonstration. This rule was successfully refused by the organizing team, because the identity of those persons was simply unknown.
The condition not to carry side-banners was estimated as interfering into the right of demonstration, to give police a reason to attack the demonstration. All together police behaviour was answered by the demonstrators in a flexible and competent way, which helped for a successful process of protests.
More then 300 people arrested during the protests. 1 is still in investigation-prison. March for immediate release!
